A standby generator working together with your UPS will provide the ultimate protection against power loss. However the generator must be regularly maintained and serviced to be sure it will start when you need it most. Most generators have a diesel engine, and like any engine, the oil and filters need changing on a regular basis. Borri provides servicing for all makes and models of generators.
We carry an extensive range of consumables on our engineers’ vehicles that enable us to provide you with everything from a “one-off” service visit to an annual maintenance support contract. On-site servicing When required, we will arrange for one of our generator engineers to attend your site and carry out servicing. This visit will include inspection of the oils, liquids, filters, belts and hoses with replacements being fitted as and when necessary. The generator operation is proved and the set is left running for a period of time to remove any deposits from the manifold and exhaust system. Our engineer will answer any questions you may have and will make a full report so that our service centre can inform you of any current or potential problems. In order to save you additional expenditure, Borri will also provide an oil sampling service on larger generator sets. A sample of the engine oil is sent away for analysis and depending on the results we will advise whether or not to change the oil, which will potentially save you thousands of pounds in oil replacement each year. If in the unlikely event that your generator has a problem between services, Borri can provide an engineer onsite within four hours of you calling our 24-hour call-centre for emergency situations. Our 24-hour call centre can connect you with any of our “on call” service teams for telephone or onsite support.
