A Borri UPS reflects less than 3% distortion back to the mains, this low reflected distortion results in electronic equipment up stream from the UPS being much less susceptible to interference (ideal for hospitals). Another important consideration is that most European countries are looking at imposing penalties on companies that excessively pollute the electrical grid. A Borri UPS falls well inside the proposed distortion levels that would be subject to a fine.

IGBT Rectifier technology saves unnecessary over sizing of auxiliary generator sets, infrastructure cabling and circuit breakers. Manufacturers with high input THD machines may offer a partial solution by means of a 12-pulse rectifer, this old technology requires additional input filters and transformers to try to match Borri’s performance, this in turn adds a substantial price, size and loss of efficiency.
