ECA ETL List

Most companies are familiar with making a capital allowance claim as part of their corporation tax return.

Now companies can claim up to 100% against the cost of investment in the first year for equipment that is listed a part of the Governments Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme See (Link) for details of all Borri ECO UPS systems currently listed on the Energy Technology List (ETL) enabling you to make a claim against the equipment.

Why use the ECA Scheme?

  • The ECA Scheme is open to all businesses paying UK corporation (or income) tax - with no restrictions on size or location.
  • Up to 100% of the first-year capital allowances on investments is provided in energy-saving equipment against taxable profits of the period of investment
  • All products listed on the ETPL have met the energy-saving criteria

How much can I claim?

You can claim back the full amount of your UPS provided it is below the threshold set by the ECA. The limits on the amount you can claim back can be found here

What is the ECA?

ECA stands for Enhanced Capital Allowance, and is a scheme set up by the Carbon Trust. The Carbon Trust is a UK Government funded initiative which has been commissioned to encourage the reduction of carbon emissions generated by UK companies and to educate ways of reducing waste.
