ELECTRONIC
An Electronic Governor works by counting the teeth on the flywheel of the alternator as it rotates and regulates the fuel flow accordingly. This in turn controls the engines speed thus producing a stable output frequency of 50Hz. It is essential to have electronic governing on the engine when the Generator is being used with a UPS system.
ALTERNATOR
Mecc Alte model, brushless self exciting, self regulating screen protection and drip proof with the following characteristics.
- Class H insulation with severe environmental protection
- 4 Pole
- 2/3 pitch winding
- IP21 enclosure protection
- Tropical protected with impregnated windings
- Single bearing and close coupled
- Automatic Voltage Regulator UVR6 +/- 1.5%, incorporating voltage adjustment potentiometer and under frequency protection.
The Mecc Alte Alternator, which, when used in conjunction with the Deep Sea Controller offers high overload characteristics. Being able to cope with a high demand although for a short period is a crucial feature especially when the generator is supporting inductive loads with high start up requirements such as pumps, air conditioning, motors etc…
SOUND ATTENUATED CANOPY
The canopy supplied on the generating set is completely manufactured at the factory. Unlike other Generator manufacturers who have their canopies manufactured elsewhere, Borri complete the whole process from start to finish. The low air velocity, fully waterproofed sound attenuated enclosure of compact design comes with 4 vertically hinged, generously sized, lockable doors to allow easy access for maintenance. A unique and special painting process ensures that the canopy is treated against corrosion and the most extreme of weather conditions. A polyester powder coated paint is then added for additional durability.
An emergency stop button is also standard on the Canopy.
FUEL TANK (Standard)
A BUNDED fuel tank is incorporated on the base frame of the Genset. This prevents any leakages from the internal fluid of the generator leaking into the environment. The base frame itself is manufactured from heavy duty steel with anti vibration mounts between the engine and alternator feet and the frame.
AUTO MAINS FAILURE PANEL BY DEEP SEA ELECTRONICS
The Automatic Mains Failure Panel fitted on the Generator is used to monitor the mains supply and automatically start the standby generator set. The module also provides indication of operational status and fault conditions, automatically shutting down the genset and indicating failures by means of a clear, backlit LCD Display. Operation of the module is via pushbutton controls mounted on the front panel. The panel provides metering and alarm facilities via the LCD display including the following:
- Mains Voltage (L1-N, L2-N, L3-N)
- Mains Voltage (L1-L2, L2-L3, L3-L1)
- Frequency
- Engine Speed
- Generator Voltage (L1-N)
- Generator Current (L1,L2,L3)
- Engine Oil Pressure
- Engine Coolant Temperature
- Hours run Counter
- Battery Voltage
- LTS PANEL (Load Transfer Switch Remote)
The contactors used for this generator are rated at 800AMPS. These contactors are fitted inside a custom panel and are remote to the generator.
COOLANT HEATER AND BATTERY CHARGER
The water jacket heater is standard on all generator sets supplied by ourselves . The water heater’s job is to keep the engine warm and provide a reliable start up of the generator in cold weather conditions. The battery charger ensures that the start up battery is fully charged to again prevent the Genset from not starting.
OIL SUMP PUMP
The oil sump pump is standard on all generating sets supplied by ourselves. It is a vital piece of Equipment if a routine service is to be carried out with minimum mess.
PAINTING FINISH
- The best 4 step painting process are used. Each piece of metal work has to complete this process. Individual Dip tanks form steps of the process.
- Process 1 – De-greasing Tank. This tank removes all grease and dirt from the surface of the metal.
- Process 2 – Hydrochloric Acid Tank. This tank is used to remove any surface corrosion.
- Process 3 – Zinc Plating Tank – Once the metal is clean and free from corrosion it is Zinc plated to stop corrosion from. occurring if the paint finish is damaged.
- Process 4 – Electrostatic powder coating.
MECHANICAL BUILD
The Rock-wool attenuation is manufactured and formed to suit the canopy. Once the basic canopy is complete it will be placed into stock ready for order specific use. The canopy will then be removed from stock and taken through into the build completion area where the engine and electrics are installed and the unit tested.
