Diesel Generator Maintenance
Wherever a generator has been installed to support a whole building, or just the IT department, then regular servicing and testing are absolutely crucial. Many generators, although housed under weatherproof canopies, are still subject to extremes in temperature which can, in turn, lead to water condensation. It is not unusual to find water gathering inside even the best of weatherproofed canopies, water always finds a way in!
By necessity, switchgear is part of any generator installation. It is this switchgear that will transfer from mains to generator in the event of a power failure. Added to the switchgear is the electronic mains fail detection system, speed control and phase sensing equipment; all these critical components need to be regularly tested and inspected.
“The Generator Must Start”
Interestingly, it is because stand-by generators are used so rarely that monthly tests should be performed. When disaster hits, the generator must start. As part of our service routine, all control electronics will be tested, all switchgear will be inspected, and all fluids (which include sump oil, fuel oil and cooling fluid) are analysed and replaced when necessary.
We can maintain service or repair almost any make of generator. Below are some of the makes we support.
SDMO, FG Wilson, Advance Diesel, Scorpion, Perkins, Volvo, Cummins, Deutz, John Deere, Iveco, Winco, Leroy Somer, Newage, Mecc Alte, Stamford, Briggs & Stratton, Coleman, De Walt, Honda, Yamaha and Makita

Consolidated UPS and Generator Contracts
Having both your Generator and UPS under the same service agreement brings huge benefits, other than financial ones. One of the most common issues in the emergency power industry is when a problem occurs on site, particularly when two separate companies are used, one for the generator and the other for the UPS. Having the whole installation under one service agreement prevents 'buck-passing,' resulting in a more efficient and cost-effective service.
